When the dreaded virus struck the world of sports, we did manage to adjust to it and resume activities, but such is its effect, that there always is a risk factor associated. As Covid-19 cases continue to spiral now amidst its second wave, the country’s sporting fraternity is getting hit badly with more and more athletes and coaches getting infected in major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi and Patiala. The global economic slump caused by the Covid-19 pandemic could alter the sports industry in ways unthinkable. Some sports will be hit harder than others. The economic framework of international cricket is likely to change and lower-ranked nations will face a crisis in funds. Sports like hockey face a questionable future.

India’s Beloved IPL Will Happen this Year

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed its decision to postpone the T20 World Cup. This has presented the Indian cricket board (BCCI) with a window of opportunity to host Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 between September and November of this year.
